Outdoor Living, Desert Style

Patio Installation in Las Cruces, NM

With 300 days of sunshine a year, a patio gets used more here than in most places. We build patios that drain right, handle the temperature swings, and give you a real outdoor living space — not just a concrete slab behind the house.

Patios Built for This Climate

A patio in the desert needs to handle extremes: 100-degree surface temperatures in summer, freezing nights in winter, and monsoon downpours that dump an inch of rain in twenty minutes. Materials that work in other climates crack, shift, or pool water here if the base isn't right.

We start every patio with proper excavation, compacted base material, and drainage grading. Then we build with materials suited to the UV exposure and temperature range — flagstone, concrete pavers, stamped concrete, or natural stone, depending on your space and your taste.

  • Compacted base that won't shift or settle
  • Graded drainage away from your foundation
  • Materials rated for desert UV and freeze-thaw
  • Workmanship guarantee on every project

Patio Materials

Flagstone

Natural stone with a southwestern look. Stays cooler than concrete and blends with desert landscaping.

Concrete Pavers

Interlocking units in a range of colors and patterns. Durable, repairable, and easy to extend later.

Stamped Concrete

Poured concrete with a stone or tile pattern stamped in. A single continuous surface with no joints to weed.

Patio FAQ

What patio material is best for Las Cruces?
It depends on your budget and aesthetic. Flagstone is a natural fit for the Southwest and stays relatively cool. Pavers give you more design options and are easy to repair if one cracks. Stamped concrete is cost-effective for large areas. David will walk you through the trade-offs on site.
How long does a patio installation take?
Most residential patios take three to seven days depending on size, material, and site conditions. Excavation and base prep are the biggest variables. We give you a timeline before work starts so you know what to expect.
Will the patio crack in winter?
Not if the base is done right. Most patio failures here come from poor compaction or inadequate drainage — water gets underneath, freezes, and heaves the surface. We compact a proper base and grade for drainage so water moves away, not under.
