Clean Lines, Solid Ground

Walkway Installation in Las Cruces, NM

A good walkway does more than connect point A to point B. It keeps foot traffic off your landscaping, handles runoff during monsoons, and adds curb appeal. We build walkways with proper base prep so they stay level and drain right for years.

Walkways That Last in the Desert

Desert soil shifts. Monsoons wash out loose gravel. Freeze-thaw cycles crack poorly laid surfaces. A walkway that works in Las Cruces needs excavation, compacted base material, and materials chosen for UV and temperature extremes.

We build walkways in flagstone, concrete pavers, natural stone, and poured concrete — each with a compacted base that prevents settling and proper cross-slope so water moves off the surface instead of pooling.

  • Garden paths through xeriscape and planting beds
  • Patio-to-gate connections and utility access paths
  • ADA-friendly surfaces for accessibility needs

Popular Materials

Flagstone

Irregular natural stone set in sand or mortar. Classic southwestern aesthetic with good traction.

Concrete Pavers

Uniform units in a variety of colors and patterns. Easy to repair — pop out a damaged paver and drop in a new one.

Decomposed Granite

Compacted DG with stone or steel edging for a more casual, natural-looking path at a lower cost.

Walkway FAQ

How wide should a walkway be?
A front entry walkway should be at least 4 feet wide so two people can walk side by side. Side-yard and garden paths can be 2 to 3 feet. David will recommend a width based on how the path gets used and what looks proportional to your property.
Can you match my walkway to an existing patio?
Yes. We can match or complement the material, color, and pattern of an existing patio or driveway. If it's a paver product, we can often source the same unit. If it's natural stone, we'll get as close a match as the quarry allows.
How do you handle drainage on walkways?
Every walkway gets a slight cross-slope — usually about a quarter inch per foot — so water sheets off to one side instead of pooling on the surface. If the path crosses a drainage flow, we install a catch basin or channel drain to keep water moving without eroding the base.
