Protect Your Property

Erosion Control in Las Cruces, NM

Monsoon storms can move a lot of soil in a short time. If your property slopes toward your home, your neighbor's yard, or a public right-of-way, erosion control isn't optional — it's protection for your foundation and your investment.

How We Control Erosion

The approach depends on the slope, the soil, and where the water is going. We combine grading, retaining walls, rip-rap, ground cover plantings, and drainage infrastructure to slow water down, hold soil in place, and route runoff safely.

Retaining Walls

Stone, block, or timber walls that hold slopes in place and create usable terraced areas.

Rip-Rap & Rock Armor

Large stone placed along slopes and channels to absorb water energy and prevent soil movement.

Grading & Swales

Reshaping the ground to direct water where you want it — away from structures, into drainage channels.

Erosion-Control Plantings

Deep-rooted native plants that stabilize soil on slopes. Desert willow, Apache plume, and native grasses work well here.

Erosion Control FAQ

My yard washes out every monsoon. Can you fix that?
Yes — that's one of our most common calls. David will look at where the water comes from, where it goes, and what's needed to redirect it. Usually it's a combination of grading, drainage, and rip-rap that solves the problem permanently.
Do I need a retaining wall or just better drainage?
It depends on the slope and the severity. A gentle slope might just need grading and plantings. A steeper slope or one that's actively collapsing usually needs a retaining wall. David will recommend the right solution — not the most expensive one.
Do retaining walls need permits in Las Cruces?
Walls over 4 feet typically require a permit through the Las Cruces Department of Community Development. We handle the permit process and factor it into the project timeline.
